KMSHA YOUTH COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP
Exciting New Changes for the Youth Program in 2008
The 2008 KMSHA Youth Board is
in place with Zachary Hill as President, Mary Kelley Tucker as Vice President,
Elise Pacholewski as Treasurer and Erica Pacholewski as Secretary. The Board
this year consists of youth from different states which will help bring new
perspectives to the program. With the technology of conference calls and emails,
the youth have already spent in excess of 20 hours working out a new program to
benefit all youth across the nation.
Exciting changes for Youth
Program awards are in place for the 2008 season. Be sure to read about all the
new changes in the Juvenile Youth Program section in the 2008 rulebook. Once
completed, you will also find a copy on the KMSHA website or may request a copy
by emailing or calling the Youth Coordinator, Julie Tucker at
gaitawayfarms@bellsouth.net .
I hope all the youth across the
US will try for these awards. Send us your emails and photos so we may keep in
touch.
Have a Great Show Season!

Zach Hill - President
This year will make my 6th year of showing horses. I
live on a farm and have lived on a farm for my entire life. I enjoy
riding, horses, four wheelers, and I love soccer, baseball, and
basketball. I used to go to public school but now I am home schooled.
This year is my second year of home schooling and I’m in the 8th grade.
For the past years no one has took a genuine interest in the youth
program. So starting this year we really hope to change that. We have
already elected some of the officers and we really hope to have more
youth come and join us. We have already begun to get plans together and
we have already started making changes. We all really hope that you all
will enjoy what we are doing! |

Mary Kelley Tucker - Vice President
I’m a freshman at George Rogers Clark and I’m your
2008 youth Vice President. I have been showing KMSHA for 6 years. I rode
on a Juvenile drill team for 6 years. I have won multiple International
and High Point awards. I have shown in every class available to juvenile
program. I’m also winner of the 2007 12-17 Regional Versatility award
and Reserve 12-17 National Versatility. I don’t only show, but also
trail ride for fun and competition. I have logged over 2,000 miles. I
also rode in the first KMSHA Competitive Trail ride. My show horses are
also my trail horses. I placed 5th in the second KMSHA Competitive Trail
Ride on my park horse, Strong Suit. I have many plans for this youth
program and hope to make it better for everyone. The officers this year
I believe have been showing long enough in this youth program to make a
difference that will represent all the juveniles well. I hope everyone
has a great 2008 show season. |

Elise Pacholewski - Treasurer
I am sixteen years old and a junior at Walsh Jesuit
High School in Ohio. I have been riding for the past ten years in the
disciplines of hunter/jumper, western and saddleseat. The spark for my
passion of Kentucky Mountain Horses came when we moved to a mountain
horse breeding farm. I fell in love with the breed and purchased my own
mountain horse, Maiden Ohio when she was seven months old. We are
planning to make our debut next show season. Over the past three years I
have had the opportunity to exhibit mountain horses for other people. I
am the recipient of the 2006 KMSHA Juvenile Regional Versatility award.
In the 2007 season I was named COSCA (Ohio) Gaited Division High Point
Champion and Reserve KMSHA Juvenile Regional Versatility along with many
KMSHA and COSCA year-end high points. There is also a small part of my
life devoted to non-horsey activities. I am an active rock climber and
play first chair flute and piccolo in our school’s Concert Band as well
as performing with the school’s orchestra for plays and musicals. I am
thrilled to be the treasurer for the KMSHA youth program and I am
looking forward to seeing old and new faces this show season. |

Erica Pacholewski - Secretary
I am fourteen years and I am a freshman at Walsh
Jesuit High School in Ohio. I started riding horses at the age of four
and never stopped. For eight years, I was involved in hunter/jumper
competitions and later took a year of western riding lessons. When my
family moved to Tamberlane Farm, I fell in love with the Kentucky
Mountain Horses there. I have yet to own my own horse, but I have been
showing other people’s mountain horses at shows for the last four years.
My favorite thing to do at the barn is to help break and train new
babies. When I am not at the barn, I play percussion in the concert band
at school, rock-climb, and enjoy playing sports. I am looking forward to
helping form the new youth program and making this a great show season.
