KMSHA May/June Sponsor Spotlight

KMSHA 2007 Platinum Sponsors -

Mike and Sara Patton

by Mary Marshall

KMSHA 2007 Platinum Sponsors Mike and Sara Patton of Meritage Farms in Wildwood, Missouri, have fostered a deep love and appreciation for the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse that has led to the purchase of a top notch show string, including the stallions Caudillís Spirit and The Totally New Venture.

Caudillís Spirit, a reserve amateur park pleasure champion, and The Totally New Venture, reserve classic pleasure champion, are also ridden and trained by Sara. Classicís Candy Man and Raven Rain Rose are the newest additions to the show stable.

"As an amateur, I enjoy riding and training the horses," Sara said. "That is the most important aspect to me. We also enjoy showing, there is just nothing like it. Weíre looking forward to the International Grand Championship in October."

The Patton's are in the process of completing the construction of a new state-of-the art 30-acre facility just outside of St. Louis, where they can concentrate on riding, training, and raising Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horses.

"We will stand Caudillís Spirit and The Totally New Venture next year at the new farm," Sara continued. "We would also like to introduce, promote and organize more Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse shows and clinics in Missouri. There is a need for a local club, and we look forward to helping it grow and develop."
