Vendor's Welcome for KMSHA
International Grand Championship
Show. Submit Contract or call office at
KMSHA at 859 225-KMSH for reservations and information.
Due to a scheduling conflict of interest among
several Mountain Horse groups, for the weeks of Sept
5, 2011 through Sept. 17, 2011 whereby 3 Grand
Championship Shows had been set to run on top of one
another, a major alteration has occurred.
The KMSHA has gone to great effort to work
diligently with the Kentucky Horse Park for an
alternative date.
Knowing that this is almost an impossible task, once
the KHP schedules events each season, there is no
change since both the KHP indoor arena's are
entirely booked now through the season.
Fortunately, the KMSHA and KHP have reached an
agreement to move the KMSHA/SMHA International Grand
Championship Show from September 7-10, 2011 to
October 12-15, 2011 to be held in the new heated
Alltech arena.
We invite all other Mountain
Horse Groups and all of our mutual members to attend
our Grand Championship Show in October 2011 and as
well, wish our friends RMH, UMH and MPH have great
Championship shows and much success of their own in
2011.
Sincerely,
The KMSHA/SMHA Board Of Directors
2010 KMSHA/SMHA INTERNATIONAL GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP
What a Successful 2010 International Show it
Was!
If you missed the KMSHA/SMHA International Grand
Championship Show October 28 thru 30, 2010 you
missed the most exciting Mountain Horse Show of
the season. What a true “Extravaganza” it was.
The new Kentucky Horse Park
Indoor Arena was packed with many Mountain
Horses from all discipline’s and boasted 740
class entries overall, for three day event.
Members were generally very
pleased with the wonderful turnout of horses and
competitors. 740 entries were counted that went
through the DQP and into the show ring. Close
to 400 horses were entered in the show and
approximately 300 stalls were rented.
All categories had great
representation, Youth, Amateur, Novice, and
Professional. Fun, showmanship and friendship
was the general feeling of both the crowd and
the exhibitors. There was also a sensitive and
emotional air about showing in the same place
that the World Equestrian Games had graced just
a few weeks earlier. The KMSHA/SMHA
International Grand Championship was an
unmatched performance.
Overall, it was a very classy
event and the horses that competed were superb.
You could just tell that the quality of horses
there were the top of the line. The competition
was heavy and the winners deserved the best.
Numerous classes where over twenty horses had
entered had to be split. Even the entries that
didn’t place in several classes, left feeling
very important and satisfied about the judging
and competition at hand. During the show,
several remarks were overheard like, “this is
the way it used to be”, “look, everyone’s
smiling and having a good time”, “the horses are
so beautiful”, “I certainly won’t miss this
event next year”.
If those remarks didn’t make you
feel good, nothing would. A great show event
such as this one will make a lot of good happen
for our breed. It promotes the breed over the
World as the breed of choice, it stimulates
horse sales, breeding, awareness and most of all
satisfaction that the Kentucky and Spotted
Mountain horses are the future and are the
survivors. The quality of our horses is
outstanding and getting even better and people
who count, are seeing the difference for
themselves. These events make way to new buyers
and new members, which is our goal. The goal has
never been changed or altered and is clear for
all to see.
Thanks to all those who made the
KMSHA/SMHA International Grand Championship Show
for 2010 such a great success!
Members, Exhibitors, Sponsors
and Friends, we are so proud to say with our
hearts, that the “KMSHA/SMHA is truly on the top
of the Mountains”
We thank you all for your
sincere and loyal support. Continue to help us
keep our dreams alive!
