How Can My Horse Be a Part of the  Futurity?

If you have offspring (colts & fillies) to a current 2007 nominated KMSHA/SMHA Futurity stallion (Sire) listed here then your horse (offspring) is eligible to show for the 2007 futurity once registered in the proper age division class.

In addition and new for 2008, any KMSHA/SMHA stallion that is two years old or older and currently does not have it’s sire nominated can be entered as a nominated stallion for $150 as a Futurity Sire itself.  Until September 30th, a special nomination fee of $150 will also be offered for spotted stallions.

Exhibitors who will be competing in the 2008 futurity must submit their nominations for both offspring and Sires by September 1, 2008 (for publishing in the KMSHA News International Issue) and October 1 for the final deadline.

The 2008 futurity will be held in conjunction with the KMSHA International Grand Championship October 14-18, in Lexington, KY.

The 2008 futurity will be offering both KMSHA and also for 2008 SMHA classes for weanlings, yearlings, 2- year olds, 3-year olds, and the 4 and older Stallion Stakes class. The KMSHA or SMHA weanling and yearling classes will be split into fillies and colts if more than 15 horses are nominated in these divisions.

Owners who wish to nominate a horse whose sire is not a current futurity nominated stallion may do so provided owner/exhibitor pays the $150 nomination fee plus the appropriate age class entry fee for any 2008 competing offspring at the show.
